Trinity Western University has been preparing all summer to make a greater, more transformative impact on our students’ lives. One innovation that will improve the TWU student experience significantly is the new Service Hub.
Get help with learning, finances, health, and more
Here at TWU, we are focused on helping students make progress. One way, is through the conveniently accessible Service Hub.
“Students don’t need to go running all over campus to get their problems solved or questions answered," said Dan Burnett, Enterprise Service Management Director.
He describes the Service Hub as a "one-stop shop" for student needs. Instead of going to multiple departments or buildings to solve different needs, students can simply go to the Service Hub, which provides one centralized place for students seeking help or answers.
Access help online, in-person or by phone
Students can reach out for help with anything pertaining to University life.
There is a wide breadth of services that are available to students through the Service Hub – everything from parking and security, to health insurance, to meal plans, recreation, courses, and academic coaching. Moreover, the list of services continues to grow.
The Service Hub is accessible online, in-person, or by phone.
- Online at twu.ca/help
The online portal is found at twu.ca/help. An accompanying FAQ page provides quick answers to the most popular requests.
- In-person at the Student Life Office
To access the Service Hub in-person, students can visit the Student Life Office, on the first floor of the Reimer Student Centre (Langley campus). The Front Desk will take any student questions, and provide relevant wayfinding.
- Dedicated phone line
To access the Service Hub by phone, students can call the Hub phone line: 604-513-2030.
Harnessing technology to improve service
Through creating the Service Hub, multiple TWU departments are joining efforts to significantly improve the student experience. Among the departments that are leading this effort are Information Technology, Student Life, and the Registrar’s Office.
Stuart Schellenberg, Executive Director of Information Technology, describes the Service Hub as a “collaborative, student-focused effort” that has emerged out of the TWU’s new Vision and Connected Campus strategy.
Using TWU's technological infrastructure (TeamDynamix), student requests are tracked, allowing for better management of query volume, type of requests, and efficiency of service.
Combining our best expertise and talents, to care for students
The Service Hub launched on August 16, 2021, just in time for the new academic year. A team of student “service heroes” are present at the Student Life Office front desk, managing online requests, walk-ins, and phone calls. Currently, the Service Hub is receiving and responding to roughly 600 requests every week. With the start of the semester, this week's query volumes have surpassed 700.
Burnett is confident in the team's excellence and capability, “We have an excellent service group working together, collaborating their expertise, to serve the student experience.”
“The team has been really great to work with, and they all obviously care to serve students well.”
