Joshua McFaul leaps from TWU stage to Vancouver Opera's provincial tour

It's been an exciting road for graduate Joshua McFaul since he earned applause in TWU audience favourites The Importance of Being Earnest and Pride and Prejudice. Combining his theatre training with a SAMC Music major, he not only performed onstage at SAMC but also was the Musical Director for Holy Mo (2007) and The Good Woman of Setzuan (2009).

Since graduation his triple-threat skills have been in high demand. From September 2010 to this past March he performed with the Vancouver Opera across BC in their schools tour, playing the quirky fairy godfather Alidoro in an adaptation of Rossini's La Cenerentola. He is currently spending the summer treading the boards in Bye Bye Birdie with Vancouver’s Theatre Under the Stars.

Another highlight for Joshua was starring alongside his wife and fellow alum Shalyn McFaul (whose work our audiences may remember from As it is in Heaven and Pride and Prejudice) in The Last 5 Years at Pacific Theatre in the summer of 2010.

Staying close to his choral roots, Joshua will join Pacifica Singers for the entirety of their 2011-2012 season, including a Christmas performance of Handel’s Messiah with the Vancouver Chamber Choir and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
