A trio of Theatre grads from TWU's School of the Arts, Media + Culture made headlines this Christmas in the critically acclaimed ensemble of It's a Wonderful Life Radio Show at Vancouver's Pacific Theatre. Brandon Bate ('14) and Diana Squires ('05) showcased their versatility with singing, dancing, and flip-flopping between multiple roles while John Voth ('10) carried the lead role of George Bailey.
This innovative adaptation of the classic film was a smash hit, exceeding box office projections and garnering rave reviews. "This show is a showcase for the remarkable range of its actors," said reviewer Chelsey Stuyt in Vancouver Presents. "Diana Squires is a vocal and physical chameleon who flips between hip-swinging Violet and pencil-pushing Cousin Tilly with the ease of a light switch. John Voth, playing George Bailey, astounds as his honey-toned tenor manages to evoke, without impersonating, Jimmy Stewart’s film performance."
Actors from Trinity Western University's theatre program continue to tear up stages across North America and beyond, produce award-winning films, write and premiere new scripts, inspire young students in the classroom, and complete post-graduate work at prestigious universities.
