Statement on Possible Transit Operators’ Strike

Statement on Possible Transit Operators’ Strike

On October 10th the union representing Coast Mountain Bus Company transit workers and SeaBus operators held a vote in which the majority of its members voted in favour of strike action.

Despite the fact that the union has voted in favour of strike action, actual strike action requires the union to provide 72-hours’ notice to their employer, TransLink.

We are hopeful that this matter may be resolved before actual strike action takes place.

In the event that a strike action does occur, all classes and normal business operations of Trinity Western University will continue as scheduled, however in the interest of supporting our student body, the administration has been exploring alternate transportation solutions for those students that may be affected by the potential strike.
