As part of TWU’s motivation to see graduates equipped for life, the University offers many resources and supports to help students explore their career options and build towards their future.
The Centre for Calling and Career Development (CCCD) provides a wealth of resources to support students, alumni, and employers. From personalized coaching and resume workshops to informational sessions, students have a variety of opportunities to become better equipped for the workplace.
One popular event is the annual Career Fair, which takes place at both Langley and Richmond campuses, and welcomes employers from various industries to interact with students and graduates. This year’s Langley campus Career Fair saw hundreds of students attending and making connections with local companies and organizations.

From equip to launch
Over the course of the past year, the CCCD has served over 2,400 students at events, coached 500+ students for career-readiness, facilitated 350+ student-employer connections, and helped refer 1,500+ job leads to students. Earlier this year, the CCCD also played a key role in recommending three TWU Student Association representatives to attend the Global Peace Summit organized by Humanitarian Affairs Asia.

Strong connections across campus
Building strong connections throughout campus, the CCCD partners with TWU’s academic schools and faculties, staff departments, and several student clubs.
The CCCD collaborated with Young Women in Leadership in hosting their Networking Unplugged event and led a networking workshop. Club president Alexis Money remarks, “This event was full of dynamic students and passionate professionals all desiring to learn and make connections. …Throughout our collaboration, each member of their team offered unwavering support, encouragement, and valuable education to our own team.”
Networking and mentorship
Many students have also expressed their enthusiasm for the CCCD.
Ritika Talwar, who leads the TWU Entrepreneurship Club, expresses her gratitude to the CCCD for helping to provide meaningful connections with local businesses. Ritika recalls attending the Langley Business Excellence Awards and Career Blueprint Day as standout events, and remarks, “The networking opportunities provided by the CCCD opened doors to internships, mentorships, and insights that significantly contributed to my professional growth. I commend the center for bridging the gap between academia and the professional world, empowering students to thrive in the business landscape. I highly recommend the CCCD to all students seeking to define their career paths and build lasting connections.”

Helping graduates to thrive
James Troyer from the TWU Student Business Association (SBA) appreciates the CCCD for their support in one-on-one coaching sessions for resume building and providing photography sessions for professional profile shots. He adds, "They are always willing to help when needed and encourage by co-collaborating to provide valuable events for the student community."
As the TWU student ambassador for Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of British Columbia and Yukon, Vighnesh Vijayan comments, “CCCD has been extremely supportive for planning career after university and provides different career-related resources for graduates to thrive in the workplace.
