Langley, B.C. — President Mark Husbands and Trinity Western University leaders answer students’ questions on health and safety, finances and housing during virtual Town Hall events, June 17 and 18 at 6pm, providing clarity for students and families ahead of the fall semester.
University students and their families are seeking answers to help them plan for the upcoming school year. The Town Hall events will cover topics such as tuition costs, classroom safety, athletics and campus housing.
A special TWU panel including President Husbands and representatives from the university’s COVID-19 task forces on Health and Safety, Financial Aid, Student Life and Multi-Access Learning will release the latest news to students this week at our livestream Town Hall events, June 17 for returning students and June 18 for incoming students, at 6pm. We invite all interested students and families to attend.
Earlier this month, Daniela Lombardo, incoming president of Trinity Western University Student Union (TWUSA), kick-started the conversation on behalf students, when she asked President Husbands in an interview, “What measures are you taking to ensure that students can come back to a safe campus?” In the video interview, President Husbands responded with updates on the work that twelve COVID-19 task force teams have accomplished in recent months to establish health and safety protocols for the campus.
This week's Town Hall events represent the second time since the outbreak of COVID-19 that TWU has hosted a large-scale livestream event series for new and incoming students. The TWU Live series in March and April received roughly 1000-1600 participants in total and proved to be a very engaging initiative.
New COVID-19 Financial Aid for Students
Next to health and safety, finances are top-of-mind for many students. Trinity Western is ready to assist students with financial aid through a new Journey Forward Grant.
Through this special Journey Forward Grant, Trinity Western offers every undergraduate student up to $2000 to reduce financial barriers to education in light of COVID-19.
All eligible full-time undergraduate students can receive $1000, with an additional $1000 available to those with need.
Further grant details will be announced at the livestream Town Hall events on June 17 and 18.
These Town Hall events will be interactive, with university representatives ready to answer participants’ questions on screen or via live chat.
We warmly invite you to join us at these livestream events to learn more about the exciting things happening at TWU this fall.
