Updated Statement on Transit Operators’ Strike

The union representing Coast Mountain Bus Company transit workers and SeaBus operators announced today that they have begun strike action.  The initial strike action includes a uniform ban by operators and an overtime ban by maintenance workers. 

All classes and normal business operations of Trinity Western University (both the Langley and Richmond campuses) will continue as scheduled regardless of strike actions.

Please note that the strike will not apply to services operated by First Transit shuttles in Langley (e.g. the shuttle that stops on Glover Road in front of the Langley campus), BVRTC (SkyTrain), and West Coast Express. 

Even though the shuttles in Langley will not be affected by the strike action, commuters who transfer to other buses may be impacted.

How to prepare for strike action:

To receive daily alerts if a bus route that you use is affected:  visit the TransLink site (https://alerts.translink.ca/) and click the “Sign Up for Alerts” button.

To participate in the TWU Commuter Carpool/Ride Share program, sign in using your TWU pass to the online Ride Share Board to look for a carpool option.
