TWU hosts grand opening in Richmond next week

RICHMOND, BC - Trinity Western University, the first post-secondary institution to bring graduate-level education to Richmond, is hosting a grand opening of TWU Richmond this week.

Located at Minoru Boulevard and Firbridge Way, TWU Richmond is home to the university’s MA in Leadership. It also hosts a BA in Leadership in two degree completion formats: One tailored for full-time international students, and one for adults who wish to study part-time. TWU has been offering these programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre and the Richmond Olympic Oval since 2012.

TWU Richmond will also be home to the university’s MBA program beginning in 2016.

“We’ve been looking forward to serving the community of Richmond through a dedicated site for several years,” said Bob Kuhn, the president of TWU, which has been based in Langley since 1962.

“While TWU Richmond will deliver all of the benefits of our Langley-based programs, we’ve tailored our programming to meet the needs of the citizens of Richmond and have a lasting impact in the city. We hope community members will join us to celebrate the grand opening and learn more about our rich educational opportunities.”

Events throughout the grand opening week, from September 14 to 18, include a women’s volleyball match between TWU and UBC, a roundtable discussion on cultural challenges for East-Asian learners, an open house for high school students, a dedication service, a ribbon cutting with Mayor Malcolm Brodie, site tours and more. A full schedule of events is available on the TWU Richmond website.
