On June 6, TWU President Bob Kuhn participated in the Business of Education event hosted by the West Coast Chapter of the Canada India Education Council (CIEC).
Over 200 participants attended the CIEC event, which featured a wide range of speakers, including the Honourable Amrik Virk, BC Minister of Advanced Education, the Honourable Peter Fassbender, BC Minister of Education, and the Honourable Deepak Obhrai, Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
President Kuhn and a number of university presidents—Professor Andrew Petter, President, Simon Fraser University; Dr. Lane Trotter, President and CEO, Langara College; and Dr. Allan Davis, President, Kwantlen Polytechnic University—took part in the President’s Panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities in the Canada-India corridor.
“I’m pleased to add Trinity Western University’s voice to this significant conversation, which benefits academic institutions and students in both Canada and India,” said President Kuhn. “Throughout its over 50-year history, TWU has welcomed many international students, and continues to offer quality programs and services that help these students reach their educational goals. Many of our international students return to their home countries and apply the knowledge they gained here to better the communities in which they live.”
The CIEC is an independent national, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization established to operate within the burgeoning Canada-India education corridor. Its objective is to enhance ties and create opportunities for academic institutions and learners from both countries.
