On March 8, Trinity Western University will celebrate International Women’s Day for the first time with a panel discussion titled What Philosophy Owes Women that will highlight how women have influenced Western philosophy and thought over the centuries.
“The contributions by women to the field of Western Philosophy have been immense and yet so rarely profiled. This topic felt like a fitting way to honour International Women's Day,” says Allyson Jule, Co-Director of TWU’s Gender Studies Institute.
The theme of 2017 International Women’s Day is #BeBoldForChange. This event recognizes women who have boldly made a difference and influenced generations.
The panel discussion will feature TWU Philosophy professors Grant Havers, Bob Doede and Myron Penner as well as graduate student Amie Brenner. All are welcome. The event is free and open to the TWU community and the public.
