Master of Arts in Leadership (Business Stream) in Mandarin 10th anniversary

New cohort of business and organizational leaders start in July

Trinity Western University’s Master of Arts in Leadership (Business Stream) in Mandarin program celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. On July 10, 2020, the program welcomes its newest cohort of 11 Mandarin-speaking business and organizational leaders from China and Vancouver, who are committed to learning and practicing transformational servant leadership. This latest cohort is the program’s third intake this year, and the 19th cohort for the program. In March 2020, the program welcomed 21 business leaders into its 18th cohort, and in February 2020, 11 students entered the program’s 17th cohort.

The MA Leadership (Business Stream) in Mandarin program was approved by the BC Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training in 2009 and launched its first cohort in April 2011. Built upon the same leadership foundations as the English MA in Leadership program, the Mandarin program offers highly contextualized and cross-cultural learning to Mandarin-speaking professionals.

Flexible, Online, with Travel Studies to Singapore and Canada

Predominantly delivered online to offer flexibility and accommodate the busy lifestyle of working professionals, the program adds innovative face-to-face experiential learning sessions and travel studies in China, Singapore and TWU's Langley and Richmond campuses in Canada to foster relationship and community.

Jane Zhang is the Program Manager of the Master of Arts in Leadership (Business Stream). On the occasion of the program’s 10th anniversary, she says, “We are so proud of the program’s tenacious growth in the past 10 years from a humble yet solidly-rooted beginning. We are grateful for the dedication and support from all of our faculty, staff, alumni, partners and our visionary TWU leaders.”

Faculty Foster Holistic Development in Students

Students come with extensive professional and real life experiences and are enthusiastic about learning and practising transformational servant leadership. The average age of MA Leadership (Business Stream) in Mandarin students is above 35.

Our program faculty seek to deliver life impact through mentoring relationships with our students. We are interested in fostering holistic development in our students.”

This summer, one new student from the 19th cohort has committed to donating 2,000 medical masks and 6,000 medical gloves (3,000 pairs) to Trinity Western’s School of Nursing for their use this fall semester.
