Nadia Stewart, Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Black Journalists, Seeks to Help Others Rise to Their Potential

"Help others rise and you will rise. With this education, who are you going to help rise?"

—Nadia Stewart, MA in Leadership graduate and TWU 2020 Graduation Commencement Speaker

When Nadia Stewart entered the journalism field, she desired to connect her faith with her profession. Noticing the challenges within the industry, she resolved to raise the industry’s leadership to new levels. When it comes to being a leader, she wondered, “What if it was about building up the people so that they can get to their best potential?"

Her ambition led her to attend Trinity Western University to pursue her graduate degree in leadership.

Today, Stewart serves as a reporter for Global News. She is also the Executive Director for the Canadian Asssociation of Black Journalists.

Stewart's media career has spanned several outlets across Canada, including Rogers, CBC, CTV, and The Weather Network.

Last fall, Stewart was the commencement speaker for TWU’s graduation ceremony. She spoke movingly about her journey in the media profession. She encouraged graduates that their education has prepared them for “such a time as this.” She reminded them that they are agents of positive change in the world.
