Alketa Wollf, who is graduating in April majoring in Psychology with a Human Services certificate, is one of the team leaders for this year's Global Outreach service-learning trip to Fort Babine.

Alketa has had a heart serve Indigenous peoples for some time. "Throughout the last couple years, God has been placing the Indigenous population on my heart after working with Indigenous youth in East Vancouver for both a local outreach [ministry] during my first year at TWU and for a human services practicum," she shares.

This year, Alketa sensed a fresh desire to live and serve in an Indigenous community, and responded to the opportunity to go to Fort Babine.

"I am very excited to humbly learn from the people in Fort Babine and to see what God does through this experience," she expresses.

"I pray that God uses this trip to transform the members of my team, as well as the community we are partnering with. I hope that we all come away from the trip with new insight into Indigenous culture and experiences, as well as a fresh perspective of who God is."

Alumni-founded ministry in Interior B.C.

The missionaries hosting the TWU students are Mike and Geralyn Cunningham, TWU alumni who founded Streetcorners Ministry, a ministry serving among native and non-native peoples in Fort Babine and in northwest Central Interior B.C. The team will be joined by other TWU and Global Outreach program alumni. Together, they will be serving and living among the people of Fort Babine, serving children, youth, and elders of the community.

Students participating on this trip to Fort Babine have been preparing for several months. Last December, the team met for the first time to kick off a series of training sessions. Since January of this year, the team have been gathering for bi-weekly training sessions as they prepare for their departure in May.

Host Communities
Pray that the students and host communities will form a mutual relationship, learning and receiving from one another.

Protection
Pray that the teams can carry the gospel of Jesus Christ through relationship building, word, and deeds.

God's glorification
