Local companies from multiple industries and sectors participated in the TWU Richmond Hiring Fair on April 19, hosted at TWU Richmond campus’ Lansdowne location—helping students explore potential future career paths.
The event organizers report very positive feedback from the students who attended, as well as from the 14 participating employers. The feedback received show that employers were impressed by the caliber of TWU students and their depth of experience.
Connecting students to future opportunities
The TWU Richmond Hiring Fair is the fourth career fair that Trinity Western’s Centre for Calling and Career Development has hosted this spring. In March, TWU hosted a USERVE career fair in partnership with TWU’s Human Services Certificate program, which featured representatives from Fraser Health Authority, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, and The Salvation Army Canada, among others.
In collaboration with the School of Business, TWU hosted a Corporate Hiring Fair, which featured companies including Royal Bank of Canada, TD Bank, Chick-fil-A, Vancity, Cintas, and others. As well, in collaboration with TWU’s Admissions team, the University hosted a Camp Recruitment Fair that welcomed participation from Green Bay Bible Camp, RockRidge Canyon, Timberline Ranch, and more.
Led by TWU’s Centre for Calling & Career Development, these networking events are further enhanced by resources that help students prepare their resume, learn how to network with employers, and access career-related workshops and tutorials.
Companies that participated in the TWU Richmond Hiring Fair included Work BC Richmond, Canada Borders Service Agency, KPMG, BMO, and Vancouver Coastal Health. Together they represented potential career paths in health care, finance, human resources, media, education, social services, and other opportunities.
Every year, about 5,000 students from over 80 countries choose to come to Trinity Western, receiving a faith-integrated education and personal formation from a global Christian university and setting the foundation for a full and meaningful life.
