Langley B.C. – Trinity Western University announces summer recreation camps for children ages 4-12 will go ahead under new health and safety guidelines. Sports, arts and University camps begin on June 29, 2020. Registration is now open.
Summer camps at TWU have been popular and well-loved among the community for many years. TWU is pleased to offer summer camps again this year, with full health and safety measures in place to ensure the well-being of campers, families and staff.
Camp staff will use masks and gloves for each day of camp, and will perform personal health screening daily. Camp participants will be asked to indicate their health status and attest that they are symptom-free each day at check-in.
Each camp will have designated areas for sign in and drop off/pick up to ensure adequate space for physical distancing.
Camp staff and campers will practice new and fun contactless greetings, such as air fives, waves and star jumps.
Camps will be staggered to promote physical distancing among participants. Each camper will have their own piece of equipment. Camp equipment will be disinfected at the beginning of the day, at break times and at the end of the day.
Sports activities in camps will be focused on individual skill development. Participants will enjoy contactless games and activities, and sit-down games will be conducted with physical distancing. As much as possible, activities and games will be played outside.
