With many students studying off campus due to health and safety precautions, Trinity Western has launched two new apps to help its student communities stay connected.
In a time of social distancing, people are relying more and more on technology to stay connected. The undergraduate students’ association, TWUSA, launched its new app TWU LIFE this month.
"The TWUSA team has introduced the new TWU LIFE app to connect TWU students wherever they are this semester, whether they are studying on campus, off campus, or from around the world. Community is a strong part of the Trinity Western experience, and we hope to support that sense of community through creatively using technology," a TWU announcement said.
Since its launch, the app has been used to notify students of events – such as livestream dorm skits – just as they are about to begin. As well, the app reminds students of important academic deadlines.
Frequently used student services, such as course advising and writing coach appointments, are readily available through the app as well.
Spartans Athletics goes digital
Staying ahead of the game, Trinity Western Spartans has launched its own app, a go-to platform for athletes and fans alike.
“The app is essentially a one-stop shop for everything Spartans, and we’re excited to give our fans an up-close window into every aspect of what’s happening in Sparta,” says Mark Janzen, Assistant Sports Information Director.
“We wanted to be able to give TWU students, alumni and fans a user-friendly platform to really dive into what the Spartans are all about. Our new app gives fans and supporters an opportunity to have the story of the Spartans delivered right to their phone – be it with live scores, up-to-date rosters and schedules, news and feature stories, photos and videos, as well as our recently-launched online store.”
The new Spartans online store features products with the vintage Spartans logo, to the delight of fans and fashionistas.
The Trinity Western Spartans app is available on iOS and Android.
The TWU LIFE app is available on iOS and Android, and requires a TWU student log in.
