Trinity Western University Brings Students Closer to Employers through Work Integrated Learning

Trinity Western University has joined Canada’s largest online experiential learning, skill development, and job opportunity network for university and college students, Outcome Campus Connect, in order to create more work-integrated learning opportunities for its students.

“At Trinity Western University, we are committed to helping students discover and create a personalized vocation development plan that inspires from the first days on campus through graduation and beyond,” says Jenn Skelding, Executive Director, Learning Commons, Teaching & Learning, at Trinity Western University.

“Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an essential piece of our commitment to experiential and embodied learning through our liberal arts education,” Skelding explains.

Now more than ever, work experience is a critical component in preparing today’s graduates for our challenging labour markets.

Skelding describes Trinity Western University’s work-integrated learning initiative as a “unique, creative way” for Trinity Western University’s students, alumni, and faculty to “network and work together with employers.”

Funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement program, this initiative supports students with easy and direct access to thousands of opportunities from employers across Canada.

Now live, the online network is accessible to all students attending Trinity Western University.

To access work-integrated learning (internships, co-ops, work placements, research projects, etc.) and job opportunities aligned with various fields of study, Trinity Western University students can visit https://www.outcomecampusconnect.ca/ and sign-up, or sign-in.

Through providing work-integrated learning, Trinity Western University demonstrates its dedication to preparing students for the workforce with career-ready skills and relevant experience to remain competitive.

Skelding remarks, “We are excited about this opportunity to showcase the competencies of our TWU students and anticipate the excellent professional learning that they will experience through these connections!”
