Signalling a focused commitment to the comprehensive experience of all students, including all programs and levels of study for in-person, online, and hybrid delivery modes, Trinity Western University is pleased to name Brian Kerr, MBA, as senior vice president of Enrolment and chief experience officer (CXO).
The CXO is primarily responsible for the student experience at Trinity Western and ensures a seamless journey for students from recruitment to graduation that aligns with TWU’s vision of equipping every graduate to live and work for the good of the world and the glory of God.
Seeking to advance a campus-wide realization that student success is TWU’s primary mission, the CXO works cross-functionally and interdepartmentally to champion commitment and effective progress toward achieving the guiding strategic priorities of TWU 2030: Every Graduate Equipped.
“I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Brian Kerr as the senior vice president of Enrolment and chief experience officer at Trinity Western University," President Mark Husbands remarks, adding, "Brian is known to the entire TWU community as an accomplished and humble leader, possessing intelligence, warmth, spiritual depth, technical prowess, and an ability to identify, nurture, and celebrate the gifts of others. His comprehensive skill set is ideally suited for leading our efforts to empower our graduates with the ability and knowledge required to thrive in increasingly dynamic professional settings. Under his leadership, we anticipate new heights in student engagement and success.”
Mr. Kerr takes on the CXO position immediately, after having served at Trinity Western for 22 years, most recently as the senior vice president of Enrolment, Calling and Career Development. Previously, he served as the vice president of Enrolment, and prior to this, the executive director of Admissions.
As senior vice president, Brian has overseen the University’s recruitment efforts, including TWU Preview Days, and led the re-establishment of the TWU Alumni Department. Brian, together with his team of talented and dedicated enrolment professionals, guides prospective students and families in their journey of considering and choosing Christian higher education and discerning the best paths for their future.
The 2021 launch of the Centre for Calling & Career Development is one recent major highlight of Mr. Kerr’s tenure. In support of TWU’s vision, the CCCD provides resources to help students consider their calling and purpose and how to make a difference in the world while preparing practically for their careers and lives after graduation. In addition to working directly with students, the CCCD’s role is to work with TWU departments to strengthen career preparedness and work-integrated learning across programs and throughout the student journey.
Over the past year, Brian piloted a Designing Your Life workshop series for TWU staff and faculty at both Langley and Richmond campuses that was based on the best of what the University offers students as purpose exploration and career development tools. In alignment with TWU’s first strategic priority of advancing Christ-centred learning and culture, Brain led staff and faculty to consider how to design their work life at TWU in light of a Christian vision and mission.
"I love Trinity Western University," Brian remarks. "It has been an honour to serve alongside this community for the past 22 years, and I look forward to continuing to do so in this new role. We have a clear vision, a compelling strategic plan, and an opportunity to make a profound difference in students' lives. Ensuring that every graduate is equipped to live and work for the good of the world and the glory of God requires the collective and coordinated effort of a Christ-centred and student-focused network of individuals, teams, and departments. I am excited to contribute to the building of God’s kingdom as we work together to ensure that every graduate is equipped for life."
Since 2020, Kerr has been a member of the Executive Leadership Team, where he continues to serve, working closely with University executives to ensure broad organizational objectives that meaningfully impact the student experience and meet a standard of excellence. As CXO, Brian will help operationalize TWU 2030 strategic goals to dramatically improve student experience, recruitment, and retention. Partnering with schools, faculties, and departments, the CXO will work collaboratively to advance the University’s shared commitment to student success.
Please join us in congratulating Brian Kerr in his new role.
