President Jonathan Raymond and the TWU Alumni Association are pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Campbell (’99) as the new Vice President, Alumni and Executive Director of the TWU Alumni Association.
“I’m very pleased,” says President Raymond. “Scott will lend his expertise and dedication to fostering a strong relationship among members of the TWU alumni body. I'm confident that his leadership will mark a positive way forward for alumni and the University.”
A hiring team composed of members of the TWU Alumni Association, the Board of Governors, and university staff members recommended Campbell to the President for hiring because of his qualities as a relational, dedicated, results-producing leader.
Campbell brings to the position his extensive experience in the non-profit sector. Educated and experienced in theatre-making, Scott began his professional career in non-profit work at Vancouver's Pacific Theatre where he ended his tenure as the company's Associate Producer.
For the past several years, Campbell has worked as a fundraising and communications consultant and contractor with a variety of local and national charities. Most notably, he dedicated a number of years to working as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Bulembu International, a Vancouver-based charity driving the restoration of the abandoned community of Bulembu, Swaziland.
Since graduating from Trinity Western University in 1999, Campbell has spent time as TWU faculty, teaching in the theatre and fine arts departments.
“It is a unique time in the University's life,” says Campbell. “As alumni, we have a remarkable opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with each other and with the school on our own terms. I feel privileged to serve in this new position. I look forward to working with my fellow alumni and TWU leadership to foster vibrant alumni communities around the world that are connecting, resourcing, and inspiring our members.”
As VP, Alumni and Executive Director of the Alumni Association, Campbell will work in close partnership with the new TWU Alumni Association. His hire is in response to the formation of the alumni-developed document, “A New Era for TWU Alumni: Creating a Dynamic Alumni Association,” released in May 2011, supported by the President, and endorsed by the TWU Board of Governors. The New Era document outlines the model for an independent TWU Alumni Association. Campbell's role will be to uphold the mission of the new Alumni Association—connecting alumni to each other, students, and the University, enabling them to impact the world through making Jesus known.
“We are thrilled Scott Campbell has signed on as VP, Alumni,” says Peter Reek, who is on the TWU Alumni Association interim Board of Directors. “Scott has a proven track record of making things happen for the organizations he serves. He approaches everything he does whole-heartedly, is a gifted communicator, and has a well-deserved reputation for 'knocking it out of the park.’”
Scott and his wife Margaret (’98) live in North Vancouver with their three children, Hudson (8), Imogene (5), and Augusta (1).
