TWU hosts 5th Annual Leadership Conference with Stella Maris College in Chennai, India

Strengthening partnerships with Facilitated Academic Resource (FAR) centres

Trinity Western University was pleased to jointly host the 5th Annual Leadership Conference with Stella Maris College of Chennai, India.

The conference took place online November 25-26, running synchronously in India and in Canada. There were over 600 attendees present during the two days of the conference.

TWU partners in different parts of the world were invited to join. There were attendees from India, China, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Canada.

Stella Maris College is one of the institutions where TWU has a Facilitated Academic Resource, or FAR centre.

TWU FAR centres are located in Chennai, India, at Stella Maris College, at Jagannath University in Jaipur, India, and at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara, Uganda.

By granting global students access to high-quality Canadian degree programs, TWU FAR centres connect students to valuable online learning materials and adaptive pedagogies that prepare them for future studies in Canada.

For the first time, the Stella Maris College's Annual Leadership Conference was hosted virutally through Zoom, instead of on-site in India. Prof. Jonathan Michael hosted the conference and welcomed 15 speakers from India and Canada.

TWU Presenters included:

Dr. Mark Husbands, President

Dr. Phil Laird, Vice Provost

Dr. Todd Martin, Dean, FHSS

Dr. Barb Astle, Professor, School of Nursing

Dr. Adrienne Castellon, Associate Dean, MA Leadership

Dr. Imbenzi George, Business Stream Director, MA Leadership

A feedback survey (to which 60% of attendees responded) showed that 97% of attendees were satisfied or very satisfied with the conference. 73% said that they loved the conference, and 94% said they would attend again.
