There’s no denying it. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted education for over half the world’s student population, forcing many universities to go online.

In Canada, however, Trinity Western University is embracing the possibilities this new norm brings, through TWU ACCESS. Using multi-access learning, TWU is forging a future-focused approach to education.

Central to this concept is a learning community and support system ready for students wherever they take their classes, according to TWU Executive Director of Online Learning Dr. Scott Macklin.

“Although borders might not open up, TWU will provide its globally-recognized brand of community for students around the world,” he said.

TWU has proven that it is prepared to innovate in order to meet the educational needs of learners. The MA in Leadership, for example, is offered in both English and Mandarin, and equips students with the skills needed to become effective 21st-century leaders. Our innovative MBA program provides business education in Canada, and for learners in Tianjin, Beijing, and Shanghai. In the past 2 years, TWU has opened Facilitated Academic Learning Centers in India, Uganda, and Nigeria, and is preparing to open in China in the Fall of 2021.

The future of learning will require student-focused innovation to equip the next generation of global leaders to think truthfully, act justly and live faithfully. This Thursday, March 11, TWU is starting a global conversation with learners from Africa, India, China and North America, on how we will be defined by innovative thinking.

“Even during COVID-19, Trinity Western University continues to provide the highest quality of education and student engagement in Canada, to prepare University graduates for careers of significance. The world has changed but the bright future of our graduates around the world remains the same,” said Phil Laird, TWU Vice President of Innovation, Global and Academic Partnerships.
