In honour of Trinity Western University’s 50th Anniversary, long-time partner Sodexo donated $100,000 to support student services and University events.
“Sodexo supports TWU’s mission and values by providing healthy and innovative dining options, and outstanding customer service to enhance the overall dining experience,” said Bill Keith, Sodexo District Manager - Campus Services. “Our mandate is to make every day a better day, for the students, faculty, staff, and guests.”
Along with Sodexo General Manager, Chris Fox, Keith presented the $100,000 cheque to TWU students on April 19. Also present were Scott Henderson, Director, University Enterprise; Paul Weme, Vice President for Development; Scott Campbell, Vice President, Alumni; and Rob Thomson, Director - Corporate Partnerships.
“Sodexo has had a longstanding position of support on campus. They continue to reinvest in the culture and community at the University,” said Thomson.
Over the past 14 years, Sodexo has supported a number of projects at TWU including the Marlie Snider Collegium, the Music building, the Lower Cafeteria, and the Sodexo Lounge. Last year, they completed a major renovation to the Main Cafeteria and added new options like the stir-fry station, handcrafted sushi and gluten free menu items. Sodexo has also contributed to major University events such as TWU’s Spirit of Christmas, golf tournaments, staff and faculty barbecues, and numerous other student events.
“Being part of the campus culture means understanding the issues and values that are important to our customers and acting as an example in ethical, environmental, and lifestyle issues,” explained Keith.
In addition to supporting University projects and events, Sodexo supports healthy outcomes for TWU students. Corporate programs such as Balance Mind, Body and Soul and The Balanced Way provide educational tools to help encourage TWU students to maintain a healthy outlook, make smarter food choices, and promote balance through healthy living.
