Trinity Western University women's volleyball alum Brie King (Langley, B.C.) will be part of the launch of the first-ever Athletes Unlimited Women's Indoor Volleyball season.
King, who played her last game at TWU in the spring of 2019 following a four-year career with TWU Spartan Athletics, joins the only pro indoor women's league in the U.S., as Athletes Unlimited expands its player-centric competition model to volleyball.
Similar to the Athletes Unlimited softball league in 2020, this year's volleyball season features five weeks of games all at the Fair Park Coliseum in Dallas, Texas. On the court, the top four players become new captains each week and draft their teams from scratch for next week's games. In the Athletes Unlimited scoring system, every player can lose or win points during every game. Athletes score points as individuals and as a team to win MVP titles and cash bonuses.
King will play in the first game of the competition, as she was drafted onto Team Bastianelli (Ali Bastianelli) for the first weekend of the campaign.
