Karen Larochelle, MSN, RN

Assistant Professor of Nursing
Since my first day in a TWU nursing classroom, I knew I wanted to return as an educator. It takes all kinds of nurses to care for the people of this world, and I enjoy walking with students as they start to believe in themselves. I am exactly where I want to be going forward.

Karen pursued broad professional and academic experiences over 14 years of practice because she believed that was the best way she help students navigate their own nursing education and careers. She worked in medicine, long-term and end-of-life care. She obtained a perinatal specialty and studied women’s health. She taught students in various clinical settings, worked with young people onboard a sailing ship for three years, and reviewed care quality for regional and provincial stakeholders. As she embarks on PhD studies, she hopes to further explore spiritual formation in undergraduate nursing students, and the common ground between sexual health education and faith.
