Paul Stanley Rowe, PhD
Paul S. Rowe is Professor of Political and International Studies and coordinates the degree programs in Political Studies and International Studies. He is also Director of the Religion in Canada Institute and a senior research fellow with the International Institute for Religious Freedom – Vancouver. He teaches in the fields of international politics, the developing world, the Middle East and South Asia. His primary research interest focuses on religious minorities and politics in the Middle East and South Asia. He also pursues an interest in religion and global politics, focused on religious pluralism and religious freedom. A Canadian citizen, Dr. Rowe studied at the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University before he earned his PhD in Political Science at McGill University. He has spent extended time living and traveling in the Middle East and India. Dr. Rowe is the author of Religion and Global Politics (Oxford University Press) and the editor of The Routledge Handbook of Minorities in the Middle East (Routledge), among other works. He is married and the father of two young children.
