Local Outreach
Local Outreach
Life is too short to focus solely on ourselves. How can you give back and serve your neighborhoods and cities during your time at TWU?
Local Outreach provides volunteer opportunities throughout the Lower Mainland to serve and learn alongside trusted organizations. We have teams that serve with kids, youth, refugees, and people experiencing homelessness.
Interested in joining a team? Simply follow us on Instagram @localoutreach.twu to know when teams are accepting new members or fill out our interest form here.
Why should I volunteer?
Joining a Local Outreach team gives you valuable opportunities to pour back into your local community, serving and learning alongside trusted, established organizations. You’ll get to build deep connections and friendships and grow your confidence through teamwork, networking, leadership, time management, and communication skills. Volunteering allows you to use your time and skills to support others while gaining practical experience that you can include on your resume.
What is the time commitment?
Each team meets once a week for training, equipping, and their service-learning opportunity. While each team is unique, you can expect to commit roughly 3-4 hours each week. Teams typically operate from September to April, and you commit for an entire semester at a time.
