Envisioned as a Centre for interdisciplinary knowledge development and exchange, CEGE will foster interdisciplinary dialogue, research, and collaboration among academics (scholars and educators) and between academics and professionals (practitioners & ministry leaders) whose interests lie in advancing equity and global engagement in areas such as health, education, ministry and community development, coalescing around a vision of human flourishing for individuals and communities.

Barbara J. Astle, PhD

Global Health, Planetary Health and Equity have been a major focus of Dr. Astle’s scholarship in nursing. Over her career, Dr. Astle continues to work alongside amazing students, colleagues, and partners locally and globally to ensure the well-being of our planet.

Sheryl Reimer-Kirkham, PhD

Dr. Sheryl Reimer-Kirkham has been involved in various aspects of global health and equity-oriented scholarship for decades. From her early experiences in primary health in Nicaragua, through to research on equity in Canadian and British healthcare settings, and currently leading a program of research on human rights and albinism in Africa, Dr. Reimer-Kirkham is firmly committed to bringing a global health and equity lens to all aspects and contexts of health care to truly foster human flourishing and improved health outcomes.
